A practical solution for tangled wires when charging your devices

by JPM on Nov.21, 2009, under Uncategorized

powermatThis is a Sponsored Post written by me on behalf of Powermat. All opinions are 100% mine.

If like me you like gadgets then one nagging problem that you will constantly face is how to keep a track of all your chargers, keeping them neat and trying to stop all those wires from getting tangled, this can be a nightmare especially if you travel a lot.

Most house holds could easily find them themselves having to charge their Ipod, mobile phones, BlackBerry’s and Nintendo DS’s all at the same time, and that means that you need several power sockets to plug into and this can cause logistic difficulties, especially if you don’t trust multi plug adapters.

Fortunately I’ve just come across the Powermat which may solve many of these problems.

The Powermat allows you to charge many of your gadgets and devices without the need to plug them into into their power adapter and or the need for many power sockets. You can now charge your devices simply by placing them on the neat looking Powermat, thanks to clever docking technology known as receivers.

There are Powermat receivers available for most popular devices including phones, music players, digital camera and hand held game systems, so house hold wireless charging is really becoming a reality.
Powermat
There are different models of Powermat available, which makes wireless charging simple and easy to use, whether you are in your home, office or traveling on the road.

If you have a number of gadgets that require regular charging then the Powermat may need to be an essential purchase.

Jonathan and Edward – Jedward – sing “Under Pressure” on the X Factor

by JPM on Nov.15, 2009, under Music

xfactor logoFollowing on from their previous weeks performance of Ghostbusters, which saw then left in the bottom 2, Jonathan and Edward performed the Queen (and David Bowie) classic Under Pressure.

To hide their weak vocals (compared to the origin at least) the boys integrated the Vanilla Ice version of the song in to their performance.

The result was a very entertaining performance which left the audience giving the boys a long standing ovation. They even managed to cope with a stage evasion by musician Calvin Harris. If Jedward do get voted off tonight then they go out on a high.

The following video shows Jonathan and Edwards performance of Under Pressure

How to increase PageRank

by JPM on Nov.12, 2009, under Blogging, Traffic

rankPageRank is a Google metric that represents how important a webpage is on the web. Each time a webpage is linked to by another page Google considers the page to have become more important.

How important Google Pagerank is to webmasters, is the centre of many debates, to some (certainly to some sponsored post portals) it’s considered to be very important to others SEO techniques are considered to be significantly more important, it is at least a method to see how well your page or blog is doing on the web.

If you treat PageRank simply as a measure of how well linked your Webpage is then it can be a useful tool, personally I consider links to your page to be very important, as the more links your page has, then it follows that more people have the opportunity to visit your site.

Sites with a higher PR that link to your site will help increase your PageRank more then sites with a lower PageRank

This Blog has jumped from having a PR of 0 to a PR of 2, where as netbook-experience.com is still ranked as 0, so why the difference?

Well this site has been featured in more Blog Carnivals, and also featured on EzineArticles where I wrote an article and linked to this site in the footer. If I repeat this process for Netbook Experience I’ll see if it’s Page Rank increases.

A Funny Prank to Make a Point

by JPM on Nov.09, 2009, under Uncategorized

whoopie-cushionEvery now and again the odd Prank or joke can be funny, as long as the victim isn’t hurt or upset and can see the funny side. Occasionally Pranks can also be used to make a point, about peoples behaviour.

We used to have a manager in our office who didn’t like to park in the staff car park but rather on the edge of it as it was closer to the main staff entrance. He wasn’t breaking any staff rules or any laws, and he wasn’t blocking anyone in or out of the car park but it did make it difficult turning out of the car park to reach the exit, especially when other cars where trying to get into the car park.

One of the office administrators had a great idea about how to make the point to him about him parking there, and ordered a fake parking ticket from an Internet based Joke store. The Parking Ticket looked very realistic and you couldn’t tell the difference between it and a real parking ticket until you looked at the very small print on the back of the ticket. The Ticket was placed on the managers car window and we waited for the fun to start.

We watched the manager as he returned to his car and found the ticket, he tore it from the window and marched straight to the chief executives office to complain, it was only after he got into the office that he saw the small print.

He saw the funny side although not quite as much as we did.

Would you like to pull a prank on someone then check out Prank Call, the site lets you decide the topic for a prank call, along with the age of the victim and also how crude you want the call to be,  and then makes the call on your behalf, at a lower cost then some similar services.

As a nice touch, which also sets it apart from some of it’s competitors, it even records the prank call so you can publish it on line, examples of which can be seen on the Prank Call website.

Why use Blog Directories

by JPM on Nov.02, 2009, under Blogging, Traffic

web-directoryBlog directories are huge online listing of Blogs that can point users to your Blog.

Think of it like an online Yellow Pages, but does it actually drive traffic to your Blog?

The answer is yes but I’m not sure in what scale yet.

Why do people join Blog directories?

Firstly people need to be able to find your Blog, readers go to Blog Directories to search for a specific type of blog, and they may find your site, there’s no guarantees but they certainly won’t find your site if it isn’t listed.

Secondly links are important and most Blog Directories have high Google Page Ranks, eg Blog Explosion has a PR of 5, so it may follow that using Blog Directories improves your own Page Rank. Although others hold the belief that Google ignores Blog Directories.

So have Blog Directories sent me any traffic….yes they have, I’ve registered this site and NetBook-Experience on Blog Explosion and:

Since October 4th Blog Explosion has sent 24 Visitors to Netbook-Experience.

Since October 4th Blog Explosion has send 25 visitors to JPMBLog
