Looks like Google Changed their mind – old Blogs are back up
by JPM on Aug.03, 2009, under Blogging
Well it looks like my appeal to Google worked and my blogs are back up and running.
Does that change anything – not really, other then it makes it easier to transfer posts across. I still intend to move the 3 important blogs across to their own hosting, as this incident has really concerned me that I could lose everything without warning when using Blogger.
So the plan continues….
So what did I lose.

In this post I discussed that Google has deleted my blogs and with it 2 1/2 years worth of work.
A number of blogs have gone, some updated frequently and sum updated as required, but all valuable to me. Some of my blogs covered projects and some of my blogs covered my hobbies, and I realise that I can’t recreate them all due to time (and not to mention there is now a cost implication) so I need to choose 3 blogs to get up and running again.
These 3 are:
- WebDosh an ongoing project to see how the Internet can be used to generate income, this blog had been up and running for over 2 years now, was generating an income and was about to get a re-design and re-launch. This blog will host this project.
- Netbook-experience I have an Acer Aspire One Netbook and enjoy working out how to get the best out of it, so I blogged about my experiences with it. This blog was getting good traffic, had a following and will the the Blog that I concentrate on getting up and running ASAP.
- Our-Geocaching-Blog, this blog was used to track our Geocaching adventures, had a great deal of nice photographs on there and stored a lot of nice memories. It’s this blog being deleted that has caused the most pain.
Onwards and upwards
Welcome to JPMBlog.com and why I hate Google.

Google Blocked me
Welcome to JPMBlog dot com.
I’ve started this blog following a complete disaster, Google without warning (and, as far as I can tell, reason) have removed all my blogs and blocked all access to my blogger account. Thats 2 and 1/2 years lost. There is nothing there now but ” Blog has been removed” messages.
I have no idea why Google took this action, but it’s made me determined to make sure that in future all my blogs are on paid hosting.
This blog will be used to track my progress in recreating my Blog sites, and how I make the best of them.
